Winning attitude
Summaries of The Innovator's Attitude™ 2025 issues.
Innovation requires much more than tinkering with ideas, products, technology, or business models. It is fundamentally a humane activity, and that is why we must pay attention to attitudes, behaviours, and relationships. These are exactly the kinds of topics I focus on in the The Innovator's Attitude™ monthly newsletter.
This year I have written about:
- Issue 1, January: On Good Starts. Jumping points for critical corporate innovation topics.
- Issue 2, February: On Decision Making under Uncertainty. How to navigate uncertainty at the beginning, throughout, and at the end of any innovation initiative.
- Issue 3, March: On Innovation Outcomes Part I. Three dimensions for assessing innovation outcomes: business outcomes, learning outcomes, and stopping reason.
- Issue 4, April: On Innovation Outcomes Part II. Nine innovation outcomes when business results are negative
- Issue 5, May: On Innovation Outcomes Part III. Nine innovation outcomes when business results are positive.
- Issue 6, June: On Delegating Thinking. A horror story.
- Issue 7, July: On Standardising the Known. We ought to standardise as much as we can, so we unlock time and resources for all the activities and efforts that are truly uncertain, unknown, and unexplored.
- Issue 8, August: On Innovating With What we Have. What grandma taught me about innovation.
- Issue 9, September: On Innovating With Speed. The importance of alignment, micro-focus, and hyper-intensity.
- Issue 10, October: On Types of Innovation and Ambition. By understanding the types of innovation we invest in, we can be more realistic in judging if we really are working towards our ambitions.
- Issue 11, November: On Facilitating Learning. Developing innovative ideas and initiatives is about reducing risk through continuous learning—which must be directed and facilitated.
- Issue 12, December: On Leading Innovation. Seven behaviours of successful innovation leaders.
The Innovator's Attitude™ newsletter is published on the first of every month. It is freely available, alongside many other strategy and innovation resources, to the subscribers.
