Embrace incompetence

Here is an important little reminder: we are incompetent in more things than we are competent in. There is no need to pretend or behave otherwise. In fact, being aware of this fact allows us to assess the situation and options at hand more honestly and realistically. And by knowing our areas of competence, we can use our talent to the greatest effect. Even better, learning creatures we are, we can hone and improve our skills, becoming more competent over time.
