Unambiguous expectations
The continuous cycle of clarification and communication.

By failing to clarify and communicate expectations regarding inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes we create space for confusion, delays, and conflict—and all of those drive the expenses.
Expectations must be both clear, meaning all sides included have a shared understanding, and communicated, meaning all sides have verbalised them instead of just assumed others would be able to read their mind.
The best time clarify expectations is as early as possible. Second best time is right now. And it is never a bad time to pause for a moment an check-in on existing expectations. Alignment is good.
