Innovators think differently

Expert innovators are able to combine managerial and effectual thinking for identifying their options. Managerial logic focuses on creating and prioritising resources for achieving predefined goals, while effectual logic focuses on using whatever we have at hand to imagine and achieve unknown goals.

Another defining trait of expert innovators is their ability to maintain a beginner's mind, ever curious and inquisitive. They are not afraid to question existing norms, and are able to discover new opportunities by doubting contemporary best practices.
