Have a team charter

Effective innovation teams on a mission have a clear alignment.

Team charter, or agreement, is one tool for achieving so.

There are plenty of templates out there, but I'd caution against them.

Keep it simple, and take it back to the basics:

  • Clarify joint responsibilities and tasks, as well as individual ones.
  • Make your expectations explicit.
  • Set team boundaries.
  • Stick to one page.

When transgression happens treat it with care and assume no ill intents.

Collaborating is a humane activity, and if you treat it as such, you'll be better off in the long run.
