Methodological pragmatism
Three reasons.

Assuming a pragmatic stance—i.e. "thinking about solving problems in a practical and sensible way rather than by having fixed ideas and theories"—regarding various innovation methods and tactics is vital for long-term success.
First, all innovation methods and tactics must be in the service of our business, our ambitions, and our strategic objectives. Not the other way around! If we are clear on the aforementioned, then we can be pragmatic about how we achieve them.
Second, standards are important, but that does not mean slavish adherence and mindless compliance. With deep understanding of each implemented standard comes understanding of why behind it as well. Being pragmatic means understanding when the standard must be broken.
Finally, a more pragmatic stance gives us a way out, to take a few steps back and regroup. This in turns gives space to re-evaluate the situation without the burden of following "one true way." Often that is all that it takes to get unstuck and resolve the issue at hand.
