Learn how to learn

Any organisation that wishes to thrive should learn how to learn.

This manifests as explicit and tacit knowledge. Former has significant impact on the speed of innovation and financial performance, while later has significant impact on the quality of innovation and operational performance.

Explicit knowledge is easier to improve. Focus on documenting practical knowledge, and making it easily available to employees.

Tacit knowledge requires more effort, but is also more rewarding. Focus on creating peer-to-peer learning groups and creating an atmosphere where inquiring is rewarded.

Businesses that wish to instill learning culture ought to cherish curiosity, something we are all born with but conditioned to suppress.
