Don't discount raising awareness. Becoming more aware of your surroundings—how things are—and of how things should and could be is an important step towards betterment.

Very rarely have I met people who are deliberately incompetent or failing at their job. And sometimes people succeed despite their poor practices.

Pointing out what is amiss has often been enough to create change for the better. When you become aware of an issue, then you can take thoughtful action, and change things around.
