Our knowledge of the world is temporal, brittle, and incomplete. The upside is that we are always discovering something new and exciting. 

And as we learn, we start forming and collecting various models—simplifications, rules, shortcuts—that serve us throughout the life.

*"All models are wrong, but some are useful"* is a great aphorism by George Box. 

In other words: (i) tend to your models by questioning and updating them regularly, and (ii) don't confuse the model for reality by recalling the context it was formed in.
