Five easy questions to quickly gauge the viability of any innovation team:

1. **People**: is it clear who is an idea owner, what skills are needed to develop the idea, and what is the smallest team needed that could do so?
2. **Idea**: is it clear what is the idea about, who is it for, and what would be the benefit for all relevant stakeholders?
3. **Goal**: is there a clear common goal, with desired results and estimated time frame, everybody agrees on?
4. **Timing**: is there a clear answer on why is now the right time to develop this idea?
5. **Funding**: does the team have access to resources they need to develop the idea?

No scoring necessary—a single no can tank the whole team.
