Kaizen, kaikaku, kabuki

All innovation and improvement efforts can fit into one of the following three categories:

• Kaizen, continuous or incremental improvement and innovation.
• Kaikaku, breakthrough or radical improvement and innovation.
• Kabuki, theatrical or fictitious improvement and innovation.

Two of these produce positive and enduring results.
