Innovation strategy is not set in stone—it needs to be continuously tested in the real world. There are [manifold benefits](https://weareoutcome.co/blog/building-strategy-as-a-series-of-experiments/?ref=pesec.no) to such approach, including faster time-to-learning, adaptability in uncertain environments, and reduced risk. 

[Dan Toma](https://www.pesec.no/author/dan/) recently wrote about adopting an [experimental approach to strategy](https://weareoutcome.co/blog/building-strategy-as-a-series-of-experiments/?ref=pesec.no) in four steps. First break down strategic direction into assumptions and hypotheses. Then run minimum viable experiments to test them. Ensure feedback loops are in place throughout the governance processes. Finally, update the strategy based on the learning.
